India will assume the chairmanship of the G20 summit for a year from 1 December 2022 and will also host over 200 meetings across the country. India will assume the presidency of the G20 for one year from 1 December 2022 to 30 November 2023.

The Ministry of External Affairs has issued a press release on Tuesday saying that India will assume the presidency of the G20 for one year from December 1st, 2022 to November 30th, 2023. And also "it will be the first time that three developing countries and emerging economies will be involved in this summit. India will also host more than 200 meetings across the country." The next G20 summit will be held in New Delhi on 9 September and 10 September 2023. Will happen.

The presidency of the G20 varies among member states every year. The country holding the presidency, together with the previous and next president-holder, forms the 'troika'. The G20 is also an intergovernmental forum of the world's major developed and developing economies.


These three countries will build Troika

Currently India is included in the G20 Troika. The three countries of the troika include Indonesia, Italy as well as India. During India's presidency, India, Indonesia and Brazil will form a new troika.

Collectively, the G20 accounts for 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade, and two-thirds of the world's population, making it a major platform for international economic cooperation. Apart from the member-states and international organizations participating in this summit, there are other countries that India will invite as guest countries. In which are Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain and United Arab Emirates.
